7/365 Our New Favorite Toy

As you can see, Grace decided today that she is so over her doll and talking book.

Who needs soft cuddly dolls or fun, light up books when you have a foot to discover?

6/365 Feeling a Little Better Today- Picture Overload

Baby Grace is feeling a little better today. Definitely not 100% but she is showing signs of being on the mend. Here are a few photos from our day.

Waiting for the doctor. Today was her first day showing much interest in Sophie the giraffe. She had a very tight grip on it.

This afternoon she spent a good 15-20 minutes in her jumperoo laughing, spinning, jumping, bouncing, and smiling. It was wonderful seeing her so happy for the first time in a few days.

She also figured out how to make this thing spin and after getting sick and a quick clean up, as you can see on her seat, she spent about 10 minutes just starting it spinning and watching in amazement, over and over!

She also had her first taste of food today...peas. This was her reaction:

Overall she didn't seem overly impressed. She didn't hate them, though, so we will try them again tomorrow. Don't let her in on my secret...Mama doesn't like peas either.

5/365 Sick Babe....Finally Catching Some Zzzz's

After a long, long day of the babe being sick...seemingly not even a tiny bit better than when she started her medicine a couple days ago...a day that definitely challenged my mommy patience...a day that the babes stomach was so upset she couldn't take a nap no matter how hard she tried because she would get sick within minutes of nodding off (we're talking more throw up than I've ever seen in my life people- seriously, the US should employ use of sick babies as a secret weapon against the bad guys)...a day that she required more icky medicine that I wouldn't go near her with (I thank God for a husband who isn't squeamish and was home for a few hours tonight)...a day that I definitely shed a few tears because I had no idea what else to do...she has finally fallen asleep on my chest in the rocking chair. I finally had the opportunity to get a photo or two of her that didn't include baby tears or big blue eyes that look at mama as if to say, "You aren't doing anything mom....please help me."

My sleeping angel:

This wouldn't be my first choice of sleeping position, but hey...whatever the babe wants right now, the babe gets. Especially if she is benefiting from it by getting some much needed sleep.

Now the challenge of deciding when to try to move her so I, too, can get some rest.

4/365 The Happiest Place in Our House!

Because even an unhappy Baby Grace with an ear infection will smile big for you if you put her in some water. This girl loves bath time more than any other time of the day...

...she must be part fish like her father.

3/365 Sick Baby

A few photos to describe the mood of our household today:

Mama, I don't feel good! Not even my favorite rainforest friends will help today:

Uh Oh! Ear infection. Must now take icky medicine:

Mama, please help me :(

Most of our day has been spent between the doctor's office and cuddling together. It breaks my heart to see her hurting and to have the look in her eyes that says, "Mommy, why aren't you helping me?" If only she was old enough to understand that I am, in fact, doing all that I can and that the medicine, although yucky, is helping as well.

Day 2/365 Never Grow Up

The image I chose today comes along with lyrics from a song called "Never Grow Up" by Taylor Swift. Nothing melts my heart more recently than when my sweet girl wraps her little hands around my fingers and holds me close. It's endearing, beautiful, and emotional. She has been sick for a solid 24 hours now and not really acting like herself. However, as I put her down to change her and get her pj's on tonight, she still found the energy to reach up, grab my hand, and pull it closer to her chest.

"Your little hands wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter 'cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite night light

To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that

Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little"

*Day 1/365* Happy New Year- Let The Madness Ensue...!

Well, here I am on day one of the challenge and I'm already having an issue...I can't pick just one of the pictures from today to share. I guess having more than 1 is better than having none, right? With each new year comes new beginnings, a chance to leave your sorrows behind, the opportunity to reflect on what you are thankful for in your life and want to carry on into the new year, and of course resolutions...you know, those far-fetched ideas and goals that 3/4 of society break before the month of January is even over? Yes...I have made some of those this year as well. They include the following: 1.) Be successful at this blog. 2.) Get out and get moving more. I spent so much of last year on bedrest and not being very active to say the least- I mean, sure, I was growing a baby but that doesn't do great things for your physique. The babe keeps me going nonstop now, but not necessarily providing much actual exercise. 3.)Participate in a lengthy walk or jog this coming summer or fall to benefit a charity organization, and ultimately to benefit myself and my health as well. 4.) Don't give up on my resolutions!

Today Grace and I went out to exchange a gift she got from her second cousin, Ally, and her family (Ally was our flower girl!!). While strolling through BabyGap, I couldn't help but to snap a few photos. See, I can multitask like the best of 'em - taking the daily photo(s) for the blog and being active. The pictures all have my new best friend, BOB, in them. BOB is going to be a key component to resolutions #2, 3, and even 4 being possible.

Rolling In Style!
